<h4>A leader with passion, excellence, and experience.</h4>As a long-time resident of Pembroke and 40 years of management in the nonprofit sector, I believe that I am well prepared to represent our community. My experience ranges from budgeting to planning and zoning. I have had the opportunity to work with - and learn from - diverse groups of people with varying agendas and interests in a cooperative way.

<h4>New York State Public Campaign Finance Matching Funds Program</h4>About Matching Funds: The New York State Public Campaign Finance Program was voted into law in April 2020 with amendments and program structure changes passed in June 2023. The system, which covers statewide and state legislative offices, began allowing participation for state legislative candidates in the 2024 election cycle and for statewide offices in the 2026 election cycle.Purpose: The purpose of the program is to increase the influence of small donors and reduce reliance on large contributions. It helps candidates of modest economic means to run for office. Candidates must reach a specific threshold of dollars raised from a specified minimum number of donors within the district to qualify for matching funds.Threshold to Qualify: Sarah Wolcott’s campaign must raise at least $4,000 from at least 75 in-district individuals to qualify for PCF funding. NY Assembly District 139 includes all of Genesee and Orleans counties, along with portions of Monroe and Erie counties. <a href="https://nyassembly.gov/mem/search/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Click here to find your NY Assembly District.</a> If you are an out-of-district resident, your contribution is greatly appreciated even though it will not be matched by the PCF program.Matching ratios: Contributions between $5 and $250 will be matched as follows when the Wolcott campaign reaches the qualifying threshold. "Dad always urged me to get involved in public service. I promised him that I would but the time wasn't right until now."John's two grandchildren are his inspiration for running for office. He sees how quickly the world is changing and knows that not only do we need to solve immediate problems but to also plan for the long-term. One of John's biggest concerns is that there isn't enough economic opportunity to keep young people here.

Mike's issues include:<ul><li>The high price of water in Pembroke and Darien: "The County Legislature could equalize water rates throughout the county."</li><li>Concern about the STAMP Project: Stalled and broken promises have made this a mistake. "Let's stop throwing good money after bad." <h4>Communication and Transparency</h4><ul><li>Batavia's City Council needs to listen more to residents and allow the expression of new ideas and diverse opinions.</li><li>Communicate and follow up on citizens' concerns about planning before big changes and projects start. </li><li>Frequent property assessment and tax increases are pushing life in Batavia to the edge of unaffordable. The City needs to explore alternative revenue sources.</li><li>Balance downtown investment with community growth with a focus on recreational and green spaces.</li></ul><h4>Working for Positive Change in Batavia</h4>

The first hurdle our candidates face is gathering signatures from registered Democrats during the petitioning period. The petitioning process begins Tuesday, February 24, 2026 and ends on the filing deadline of April 2nd. Residents should have access to board meetings - including zoning and planning sessions - by attending in person or by virtual connection.</li><li>Local government should actively seek and listen to ideas and input from residents.</li><li>Encourage business growth while maintaining Pembroke's neighborly atmosphere.</li><li>Balance commercial development with the impact it has on Pembroke's citizens and tax base.</li><li>Ensure that water district installation is done with input from property owners and keep them informed as the projects progress.</li><li>Pembroke's parks should be well managed and maintained for families to enjoy. We need to develop clear policies for park facility rental and create written agreements to protect both the renter and the Town of Pembroke.</li></ul><h4>I am ready to work WITH you for Pembroke!</h4>
