A leader with passion, excellence, and experience.
As a long-time resident of Pembroke and 40 years of management in the nonprofit sector, I believe that I am well prepared to represent our community. My experience ranges from budgeting to planning and zoning. I have had the opportunity to work with - and learn from - diverse groups of people with varying agendas and interests in a cooperative way.
Here are the issues that I think are important for Pembroke:
All levels of local government should be transparent and accountable. Residents should have access to board meetings - including zoning and planning sessions - by attending in person or by virtual connection.
Local government should actively seek and listen to ideas and input from residents.
Encourage business growth while maintaining Pembroke's neighborly atmosphere.
Balance commercial development with the impact it has on Pembroke's citizens and tax base.
Ensure that water district installation is done with input from property owners and keep them informed as the projects progress.
Pembroke's parks should be well managed and maintained for families to enjoy. We need to develop clear policies for park facility rental and create written agreements to protect both the renter and the Town of Pembroke.
